Memories
Heads up. This is a legacy feature, still available in the Chat tab. It works just like before, no rush. See Get started with Work for the entry point.
A new memory system is on the way for Vibe Work — stay tuned for that one too.
Memories stays around for now. No deprecation date set — we'll keep you posted.
Memories lets Vibe remember key details about you, such as your preferences, interests, and working context, based on your past interactions.
Instead of repeating yourself every conversation, Memories keeps that information available so responses stay relevant and personalized.
How it works
Vibe can save details in two ways:
- Explicit saving: ask Vibe to save something specific. For example, "Remember that I prefer concise answers" or "Remember that I work with TypeScript."
- Automatic saving: Vibe may also pick up useful details from your conversations on its own. If you mention recurring preferences or context, it might store them to improve future interactions.
Saved Memories are recalled automatically when they're relevant to a new conversation.
Memories only stores information you've explicitly included in your prompts. It won't infer details you haven't communicated. Vibe is also designed not to remember sensitive data such as social security numbers or banking information.
Enabling Memories
You can turn on Memories in two ways:
- Select the Chat tab in the sidebar.
- Click the
Enable Memoriesbutton in the pop-up that appears the first time you log in. - Or open the
Memoriestab under theIntelligencemenu on the left-hand side of your screen. Click the three dots...and toggleMemories in Vibeon.
You'll see a confirmation message once Memories is active.
Managing your Memories
All your Memories appear in the Memories tab, listed from newest to oldest. You have full control over what's stored:
- View: open the
Memoriestab to see everything Vibe has saved. - Edit: click the pencil icon next to a memory, make your changes in the popup, and confirm.
- Delete one: click the trash icon next to a memory and confirm the deletion.
- Delete all: click the three dots
...at the top-right of theMemoriestab, selectClear all Memories, and confirm. This action is irreversible.
You can also ask Vibe to remove specific Memories in conversation. For example, "Forget that I mentioned my location."
Turning off Memories
Open the Memories tab and toggle the Memories button off.
Turning off Memories doesn't automatically delete your stored Memories. If you want to remove them, click Clear all Memories before deactivating.
