Spreadsheets

Note

Spreadsheets are available on paid plans only, until further notice.

Vibe Work can create spreadsheets with multiple sheets, formulas, and formatted data. You create and edit the spreadsheet directly in Work — no Google or Microsoft account needed. The result opens directly in the Canvas panel where you can view, edit, export, and share it without leaving the chat.

Create a spreadsheet

Create a spreadsheet

Ask Work to build a spreadsheet in plain language. Describe the structure, purpose, or data you need, and Work generates the sheets and formulas automatically.

Example prompts:

  • "Create a 3-year financial projection model with income statement, cash flow, and balance sheet."
  • "Build a project tracker with task, owner, status, due date, and priority columns."
  • "Make a budget spreadsheet with monthly income and expense categories."

The spreadsheet appears inline in the chat as the Canvas panel. A spreadsheet can contain multiple sheets, each as an individual tab within the file. Switch between them using the tabs at the bottom of the panel. Click Expand at the bottom of the panel to open it in the Canvas view.

Edit the spreadsheet

Edit the spreadsheet

You can work with the spreadsheet directly in Canvas:

  • Click any cell to select and edit its content or formula.
  • Ask Work to modify it in the chat. For example, "Add a dashboard sheet that summarizes the key metrics" or "Update the tax rate to 30%".
  • Click Expand (bottom of the Canvas panel) to open the spreadsheet in the Canvas view.
  • Click Edit (top right of the Canvas view) to switch between view and edit mode.
Export as Excel

Export as Excel

To download the spreadsheet as an Excel file (.xlsx):

Click the download icon in the top-right corner of the Canvas panel.

The file downloads to your device and can be opened in Excel, Numbers, LibreOffice, or any compatible application.

Open in Google Sheets

Open in Google Sheets

To continue working in Google Sheets:

Click Open in Google Sheets in the top-right corner of the Canvas panel.

The spreadsheet opens in a new tab in Google Sheets. From there you can edit it, share it with collaborators, and use the full Google Sheets feature set. Changes made in Google Sheets are independent. They don't sync back to the Canvas version.

Share the spreadsheet

Share the spreadsheet

To share the spreadsheet as a public link:

  1. Click Share in the top-right corner of the Canvas panel.
  2. Toggle Link accessible to anyone on.
  3. Click Copy link to copy the public URL to your clipboard, or use one of the Share to buttons to send it directly via email, X, LinkedIn, Reddit, or WhatsApp.

Anyone with the link can view the spreadsheet. Your chat messages are not shared. Only the spreadsheet content is accessible through the link.

To stop sharing, return to the Share dialog and toggle Link accessible to anyone off.
